When you use the Wi-Fi Direct-compatible BRAVIA TV, you can directly connect the mobile device (Android OS) to the BRAVIA TV without a home network connection and control the TV with the Video & TV SideView application.
The registration method differs depending on the home device you want to register.
Note
If a mobile device is connected to a BRAVIA TV released in 2011 with Wi-Fi Direct, registration of the TV in Video & TV SideView will not be possible.

Wi-Fi Direct-compatible BRAVIA (Released in 2013 or later)
- Enable the wireless LAN and Wi-Fi Direct mode of the TV.
- Operate the TV to display the standby screen for Wi-Fi Direct settings on the TV.
For details, refer to the instruction manual of the TV. - Launch the Video & TV SideView application.
- Select [Add device] on the menu.
- Select the TV from the Wi-Fi Direct device list.
Hint
See“Cannot connect a mobile device to a Wi-Fi Direct-compatible BRAVIA TV with Wi-Fi Direct.” if the desired TV does not appear on the Wi-Fi Direct device list. - Select [Registration].
The registration code appears on the TV display. - Enter the registration code displayed on the TV and select [Registration].
- Update the channel list according to the application's instruction.
Hint
Video & TV SideView synchronizes the channel list with the registered TV. Select [No] if you do not need to update it.

- Operate the TV to display the standby screen for Wi-Fi Direct settings on the TV. For details, refer to the instruction manual of the TV.
- Launch the Video & TV SideView application.
- Select [Add device] on the menu.
- Select the TV from the Wi-Fi Direct device list.

See “Cannot register the home device. Video & TV SideView does not recognize the home device.” if the desired TV does not appear on the Wi-Fi Direct device list. - Select [Registration].
A message for the device registration appears on the TV display. - Select [Register] on the TV display by using the TV's remote.
